Opening of Wrap Around 3 at ARENA@Suite 806 with Reed Anderson, Tricia Keightley and Erika Somogyi

There was a great turn out on a chilly January afternoon for the opening of Wrap Around 3 at ARENA@Suite 806 last Saturday afternoon. The space, a gallery within my therapist, Lee Shapiro's office on Fifth Avenue in NYC is intimate but the crowd that showed up made it feel very large… This exhibition includes work by Reed Anderson, Tricia Keightley and Erika Somogyi and runs through the end of April by appointment only.

Wrap Around One, Curated by Renée Riccardo opens at ARENA@Suite 806

Last weekend I curated the exhibition, Wrap Around One with the work of Ryan Sarah Murphy, Gary Petersen and Gina Whitt in the office of my therapist, Lee Shapiro, PsyD. The office, Suite 806 is in a building on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan; thus the name of the space, ARENA@Suite 806. This is the first of a series of exhibitions that will take place here.

The opening for the exhibition was a very warm and lively event in a very unique setting which is usually reserved for a different purpose. I wanted to create an exhibition that inspires the patients that visit and also present another interesting way for the public to view art in an intimate setting. The show runs through mid August and is open by appointment only. To make an appointment please contact me: arenagalbyreneericcardo@gmail.com.

ARENAgal by Renée Riccardo at the PK Shop at The Standard Spa Miami Beach

During Art Basel Miami Beach week ARENAgal by Renée Riccardo was one of the jewelry lines featured in the PK (Paul Kasmin Gallery pop up) Shop in the Lido Lounge at The Standard Spa Miami Beach. The Standard Spa is one of my favorite places to unwind from the rest of the chaos of all the other art and fashion events taking place in Miami during the fair week even though there are non stop events there and the most beautiful people coming & going…It’s glamorous but so tastefully designed that it seems like home away from home. It’s a fantastic place of colors and displays and my necklaces blended right in. Here’s a glimpse of inspiration that I found there…

Indian Summer opens at Kinz + Tillou Fine Art in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn

After a successful run in East Hampton Kinz + Tillou Fine Art has expanded on their exhibition at Quik Fun Gallery with their show, She Sells Seashells at the Seashore and are doing a variation on the show entitled, Indian Summer for their New York audience in a brownstone in Clinton Hill. ARENAgal by Renée Riccardo is again included in this show along with a very eclectic group of incredible artists.  I’m very excited because my studio is around the corner and the space is similar to what ARENA was when I ran it as a salon space for contemporary art in the parlor level of my home for several years in Cobble Hill. I look forward to visiting the space regularly. The show is a wonderful mix of contemporary art, 19th century art & objects. It is open by appointment only through October 21st.

She Sells Seashells by the Seashore at Quik Fun Gallery in East Hampton

Last Saturday, She Sells Seashells by the Seashore curated by Lance Kinz & Michelle Tillou opened at the new Quik Fun Gallery at 98 Newtown Lane in East Hampton run by Chantel Foretich. The show is very unique in it’s wonderful blend of Contemporary Art, 19th Century Folk art, Victorian flower arrangements, Butterfly displays, Sailors’ Valentines, Rare shells, Editioned artist bathing suits and artist made one-of-a-kind jewelry. The show runs until September 2nd, open Wednesday-Sunday 12-6 with Champagne Saturdays for the next 2 weeks from 4-6 p.m. Please stop by for a drink and buy something wonderful from this show that celebrates all the joys of Summer…Here’s some photos that I was able to take during a packed opening that brought out the NY artworld and the locals…
