By Invitation Only, a show of three curated shows by Mickalene Thomas, Ambre Kelly and Andrew Gori and Renée Riccardo opened in the recently renovated, exquisite two floor gallery in a brownstone, Kinz + Tillou Fine Art at 59 Cambridge Place in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn. Each curator was given a room and the freedom to show whatever we wanted.
My show includes new paintings, photographs and drawings by Yevgeniya Baras, Osamu Kobayashi, Liz Nielsen, Macklen Mayse, Hiba Schahbaz and Vargas-Suarez Universal.
The opening turned out to be one of the biggest events of the season with great excitement and energy. It reminded me so much of the energy of the salon exhibition space, ARENA that I ran in my home in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn for 6 years.
Kinz + Tillou Fine Art is an exciting new space that presents art in a way where the viewer can take time in exploring challenging new work.
